Announcing: The Unreliable Nature Writer - 6th June

On the 6th June, we are publishing the astonishingly brilliant The Unreliable Nature Writer by Claire Carroll.

It's a dark, delicious, dreamy immersion in a much hotter way of living...

Pre-order the book from our online shop here to experience the pleasant slap of intimate, uncanny, brilliant stories on your threshold.

The book has picked up some amazing endorsements from the very cream of short story writers:

  • Saba Sams says it is: “ominous yet deeply tender, surreal yet undeniable. I could not look away.”

  • Irenosen Okojie calls it: "Brilliant. A playful and witty tae on our relationship with the natural world."

  • David Hayden says it: "unsettles the reader into stories of imagined natures. Worlds of present and approaching dread, slow cooked in catastrophe, of transformed or extinct personhood."

  • Ben Pester says this: "this is an absolute standout. Reporting from the borderlands of continued human existence on earth. Bleakness opens out into something tender and funny and beautiful. To be read urgently."

Claire has been published in The London Magazine and Lunate, amongst other brilliant journals,  as well as shortlisted for the prestigious The White Review Short Story Prize.

We've had record numbers of pre-orders for the book, so we've just got more from the warehouse. Buy your copy in time for publication day, right here at the Scratch Books shop!

It's hard to disagree, it's a bit strange, but winter is the best time of the year for me, it's a fireplace outside, it's snowing, you have tea or hot chocolate and you play on your favorite online site - love casino, that's where I usually spend my winter and that's why I like it so much, so if you have time you can try it.
